ACC Spotlight Student

September 2016

Name: Brady Rutishauser
Home School : Mendota
Class Enrolled: Fire Science

This month's spotlight student is a second year Fire Science student from Mendota High School. Brady comes from a family of firefighters, as his father is currently serving as the Fire Chief for the city of Mendota. Before enrolling in the Fire Science 1 class, Brady had a career ambition of being a firefighter. However, since taking the Fire Science class Brady indicates that he is more interested in serving the dual roles of firefighter/paramedic. According to Brady the class has opened his eyes to the wide variety of sub-roles that one can assume in the firefighting profession.

Upon graduating high school Brady is looking to work for the Mendota Fire Department and attend college. Once he earns his degree, maintaining his status as a full time firefighter/paramedic will be the fulfillment of his career ambitions.

Brady recommends that anyone enrolling in the Fire Science program at the ACC be prepared for a hands on class that will challenge them not only mentally but also physically. His final thought is that "anyone who is thinking they want to be a firefighter should take this class, they will have their answer when they finish."

Congratulations Brady, and thank you for your dedication in pursuit of your career!
