ACC Spotlight Student

November 2016

Name: Alexis Ponce-Vazquez(Right)
Home School : LaSalle Peru High School
Class Enrolled: Graphics Communication

This month's spotlight students are two second year Graphic Communications students from LaSalle-Peru High School. Also pictured is their instructor Ms. Deborah Parisot.

Our first student, Alexis Ponce-Vazquez, is a student who has used the Career Center to find his niche in life. Having taken every graphics course that is offered by his home school, and now the ACC. Alex is thoroughly invested in pursuing Graphics as his Career Path. He will continue his education at IVCC (taking their Graphics class). Alex indicates he leans towards the hands on side of the Graphic Communications Industry (operating the presses and screens), but is thoroughly comfortable using the software and working on the design end. He says the hardest part of the class is the business operation end and customer relations. Making the customer happy is the first priority, but there are many things to consider when trying to make that happen.

Name: Joaquin Daniel Serna (Middle)
Home School : LaSalle Peru High School
Class Enrolled: Graphics Communication

Our second student, Joaquin Daniel Serna, is a young man who is still looking to find out exactly where his ultimate career interests lie. He is very happy he has taken the Graphics Communication class at the ACC as it has allowed him to take on more responsibility and learn important traits such as organization, teamwork, and customer relations. He values the leadership that his instructor Ms. Deborah Parisot instills in her students. Daniel credits Ms. Parisot's fearless attutude regarding making mistakes with allowing him to expand his learning and feel the freedom to take educational risks. While Daniel is not exactly sure how he will pursue post secondary life, he does know that the skills he has learned in his ACC class have already brought employment opportunities and have given him options for educational pursuits. He advises anyone who is interested in Graphic Communications to take the class , as it will give you a well rounded picture of both the hands on side, as well as the technical (computer based) side. The class is challenging, but well worth the effort.

Congratulations Alex and Joaquin, and thank you for your dedication in pursuit of your career!
