Name: Courtney Oeder
Home School : Princeton High School
Class Enrolled: Culinary Arts
This month's spotlight student is a second year Culinary Arts student from Princeton High School. Also pictured is her instructor Ms. Susan Stiker.
In addition to being an outstanding student academically, Courtney excels athletically. She is a three sport athlete, competing in Volleyball, Basketball, and Softball. Being able to devote a three hour block of time, to attend the ACC for two years, is another example of how well rounded a person she truly is.
Not only is Courtney able to schedule her time to enjoy the extracurricular pursuits in which she excels, she is able to focus on experiencing those academic courses that wil push her further in her career aspirations. Courtney indicates she will pursue a business major while in college, and she will do that with the hopes of opening up her own restaurant.
While at the ACC she has found her niche in the Culinary world. She enjoys the baking aspect of the class, and has found the many aspects of the Culinary Arts challenging. Amongst the hardest is the Sanitation Certification that allows one to be a food service manager. Courtney states, that the test for sanitation certification is extremely hard, but well worth it, if you plan to pursue a career in the industry.
The ACC is proud to have had a student of Courtney's caliber for the past two years. She represents Princeton and the ACC very well!!!!
